Peace in every season is found in knowing the One who is the Truth. He holds our hearts in His hands.
Usually when I put these playlists together, I include a mix of songs with various tempos and styles. This time, however, I compiled a collection of entirely mellow and gentle songs carrying deep messages of peace.
/ “The Man with the Nail Scars” (David Meece)
I love the sense of peace that radiates from this song; it was actually what sparked the idea for this playlist. “The Man with the Nail Scars” reminds us that while there are many different roads in this world, only one path leads to peace. While it’s not easy, it is true and right. Even in the dark, we are never alone; Christ’s light guides us. All our strength is found in Him. Knowing that He suffered for us and came through victorious comforts us as we walk through this world, knowing He walks beside us.
God does not push us into His will. Rather, He invites us to come and follow Him, walk with Him, trust Him, choose Him. Every moment is an invitation, an opportunity, a choice. Whether we go forward with God or not is our moment-to-moment decision.

/ “Without You” (Jeremy Camp)
This song carries the calm confidence that comes from walking beside our Shepherd and trusting that He will lead us to still waters and green pastures (Psalm 23:1–3). Paving our own path only leads downward. Surrendering to His will gives us peace. His presence is what we need, so it would be unwise to make a move without Him. Even in trials, He doesn’t leave us. Our surroundings may seem harsh and cold, but with Him beside us, nothing and no one can take us down. He is our mighty help.
Oh, how we long to know what God sees that we can’t! But if we could see everything at once, we wouldn’t have to trust Him. God wants to use the hard times of our lives to build our relationship with Him. In our darkest hours, what we believe about God’s character can sustain us. Do we believe that He is sovereign and in control? Do we believe that He is trustworthy? Our answers to these questions are more important than knowing what tomorrow will hold.

/ “Keeper of the Stars” (Laura Story)
Living by faith involves trusting in what is true of God’s character even when circumstances seem to point to the opposite. This is only possible when we base our lives on His Word and not our feelings or circumstances. The one who holds the stars in place holds our lives in His capable hands. He has a plan even when we can’t see it. As we look up to the heavens where our help comes from, we can see the work of His hands and believe.
/ “Your Name” (Paul Baloche)
With the hope of each new morning comes another reminder of the greatness of God’s name, which represents who He is. Every day, let’s be reminded to pray that we would live in such a way as to bring glory to His name.
/ “You Are My All in All” (Maranatha Music)
This classic beautiful worship song reminds us that the one who bore our sin for us and redeemed us is worthy of our praise. He supplies all we need every single day.
/ “Come to the Mountain” (Mark Harris)
I love the peaceful and serene feel of this song. It’s a call for all who are hurting and weak to come to the mountain, a symbol of God’s presence. Come as you are, with your doubts and questions, and He will welcome you. You will find rest and be restored. Peace turns into praise in His presence.
/ “Take Shelter” (Keith & Kristyn Getty feat. Skye Peterson)
This song paints a picture of turmoil and trouble all around, reminding us it’s nothing new, but there’s a more ancient refuge where we can find safety. Pain in our lives pushes us to seek God’s comfort. He saved us from sin, so why would He not rescue us now? He will be our eternal shelter.
/ “Sanctuary” (Chris Rodriguez)
Another calm and atmospheric song, “Sanctuary” reflects on the fall of man in the garden, with echoes that still linger. Even though we’ve run so far, God pursues us. Even when we flee, He comes after us and covers us. We can’t hide from Him (Psalm 139). Though sin has demolished us, when we repent, He forgives us and brings us back.
/ “Atmosphere” (Andy Chrisman)
“Atmosphere” points back to God’s presence as manifested in Exodus 13:21-22, through cloud and fire. He surrounds us night and day. He protects us—before, behind, and beside. Wherever we are, He is with us. Not only does He surround us with His presence, but we’re always in His thoughts.
Whether God has us in the land of opportunity with more tasks than time, or tucked away in a place of obscurity with little to do and where no one can find us, we must remember this: We’re never out of His care, never far away from His heart. In every season, if we trust Him, He’ll lead us beside still waters and to sacred spaces of replenishment and growth.
— Susie Larson
/ “Every Season” (Nichole Nordeman)
This poetically crafted work of art paints vivid images of the beauty in every season (summer, autumn, winter, spring). God makes His presence felt in distinct ways through every season of our lives as well, whether they’re characterized by joy, change, endings, or new life.
/ “Peace Be Still” (Al Denson)
In the midst of the storm, don’t be afraid: His faithfulness remains. This song speaks peace over our hearts by reminding us of God’s love, which nothing can change and no one can take away.
