Sometimes writing feels like you’re straining to see in the dark, reaching out and trying to find a little light. Then when you find it, you don’t keep it to yourself—you carry it back to those waiting for you.
As someone who stepped away from writing publicly for a few months and is now emerging from the shadows, let me assure you that despite the darkness, there’s still a lot of light—if you look with the eyes of faith.
That’s something else I’ve found: writing is an act of faith. Putting pen to page and believing God will work through your words to shine a light into others’ hearts takes hope and trust.
But the work isn’t complete until someone else chooses to take up and read. That’s why your presence here matters so much to me. I’m glad you’ve chosen to follow along as I take this journey of faith.
Looking ahead, there are a few things on the horizon I want to tell you about.
a schedule
Because of other happenings in my life (one of which I will tell you about at the end of this post), I’ve decided to trim back slightly on my posting schedule. Rather than posting every week, I’ll be taking the last week of each month off, so you’ll be getting only three posts in a month. (The exception will be when there are five Thursdays in a month; then you will receive four posts.) Also, I plan to send my newsletter at the end of every quarter rather than every other month.
While I’m writing more for other commitments, I don’t want the content on my blog to suffer as a result. The goal for this new schedule is to provide a little breathing room when it comes to writing, as I want to value quality over quantity.
a series
I’m beyond thrilled to announce that next week I’m starting a series! This has been in the making for months now. Due to the time-sensitive nature of the content, I knew I would need to start it as soon as I got back.
The series is called “Thoughts Before Twenty.” It’s dedicated to sharing a teen’s perspective on some significant topics such as church, controversy, and calling. While this series will be less devotional-oriented than my usual content, I will be exploring things through a spiritual lens, as I’m sure you’ve come to expect from me by now. I’m looking forward to diving into some topics I either haven’t written about or have only mentioned in my writing so far.
a step forward
Now for the part you’ve been waiting for. This is something I’ve been pouring a lot into over the past few months, and I am incredibly excited that the time has come to share it with the world.
I’ve started a publishing company.
This is a dream I’ve held in my heart for years, but I never would have imagined that it would happen so soon. Of course, neither would I have imagined what took place last September 10th. When I heard the news that Charlie Kirk had been killed, it shook me. I wasn’t all that familiar with him before that day, but I immediately felt an aching sense of loss—and even stronger, the stirring of a call to action. I couldn’t go on with life as before. I had to do something.
But what?
The next day as I read tributes to Charlie written by others from my generation who had been similarly impacted, the idea came to me: what if I put these in a book and published it?
Anyone who knows me well knows that I get ideas of this kind every so often. Sometimes they turn into something more, but more often they fade and are tucked away in the mental folder of “Big Ideas that Might Happen Someday,” later to be replaced by other bright and shiny notions.
But this one was different. It wouldn’t let go.
And I had an idea why. It’s hard to say no to a calling from God.
So I said yes. I took the first step, then another, and another after that.
And now, here we are.
After much prayer, planning, and preparation, the foundation has been laid. I’ve gathered a small but strong team of fellow teens who share a similar vision and mission, and together we have put in the work to bring us to this point.
Starting next week, Flame of Faith Publishing will be accepting submissions from young Christian writers for our debut project, Carry the Flame: Reflections Honoring the Life and Legacy of Charlie Kirk. Our goal is to gather a collection of faith-stirring and thought-provoking articles, reflections, and poems that inspire young people to a deeper and more fervent faith.
To hear more about the heart behind Flame of Faith Publishing, meet the other team members who have been laboring alongside me, and find out details about the collection we’re putting together in honor of Charlie Kirk, please check out our website.
sendoff
That’s all for today (though that’s enough, don’t you think?). I would love to know your response. Does the upcoming series pique your interest? Are you interested in contributing to Carry the Flame and/or reading it once it’s published? Feel free to tell me your thoughts in the comments.

It’s so good to see you back, Hannah! I’m super excited for you and how God is leading you in your upcoming plans; I look forward to reading Carry the Flame once it’s published. What a beacon you are to your peers, leading them forward in faith. You are a light for us older folks, too! 😊 Happy New Year. 🥳
Thank you so much, Cheryl! That’s encouraging to hear. Happy New Year to you too. 🙂
