I’ve learned that walking on waves means staying in the storm,
And the longest part of living by faith is learning to let go.
When I turn to the arms that have waited all along,
I find the one who makes weak things strong.
The end of me is where His peace begins—
At the end of my wisdom, the end of my strength,
When my patience has reached the limit of its length,
That’s where I find the peace that rests within.
When days are gray and soft falls the rain,
Still through the valley a living river flows.
I can walk along the waves with a heart filled with faith,
A heart made strong by the God I know.
I’ve found that waiting for whispers means quieting the noise,
And practice makes present as I listen for His voice.
As I open my heart to whatever He may say,
I find calm certainty, strength, and grace to obey.
There’s a place of peace to which only He can lead—
A place of confidence, a place of rest,
A shelter in trusting that He knows what is best,
The place where His presence washes over me.
When nights are dark and the rain falls hard,
Still in the moonlight a river catches the stars.
I can follow the path with a heart aimed for the mark,
A heart ruled by peace in every part.
When I stop searching for peace
And choose to follow His lead,
That’s when peace finds me.

“There’s a place of peace to which only He can lead—
A place of confidence, a place of rest,”
That’s my favorite part of this poem. It is so true that He leads us to a place where no one and nothing else can take us. His peace surpasses our understanding and is SO impossible to counterfeit it. Once you’ve felt His peace, nothing fake will satisfy. Thank you so much for sharing this lovely poem 💖
Yes, I agree: there’s nothing like the peace He gives. Thank you, Leah! I appreciate that.
Amen. You’re welcome! (:
